Everything you need to solo your favorite TTRPGs!

Traveling outside the starter area of any tabletop game can be daunting, especially if you're a new player.

When I started playing solo, I wanted so badly to explore and unlock more of the world, but I didn’t know what I would see or encounter.

I felt stuck and even abandoned the game because I couldn’t flesh it out and move forward without second-guessing everything. I needed these things planned out earlier, so I could just enjoy the game.

That’s why I created these adventure oracles. To make solo traveling and worldbuilding easy.

Now I’m confident in traveling not only outside the starter area but across new realms, bringing settlements to life, and making every moment feel like a movie in my head.

But it wasn’t enough to just create places. To make my solo games come alive, I needed people with realistic traits, jobs, and goals, events to enjoy or disrupt my plans, and treasures to fill my pockets.

Now I have everything I need to make my solo worlds come to life without slowing down gameplay.

I can flesh out entire cities, from their famous features and key figures to problems they're dealing with,  and buildings and architecture, with just a few rolls. I can even explore beyond cities, encountering all sorts of people, creatures, dangers, and wonders.

Looking back at my first few games, I see how much I struggled and how badly I wanted to explore these unknown worlds. Now I feel limitless. I hope you will too.

  • Action/Theme Event Generators: Roll a d100 for an action and another roll for a theme. Maybe you get "Explore Object." Interpret that as something you or someone else is doing, or maybe it's your new goal or mission. You may roll more to generate answers such as who is doing the event and what "Thing" they're looking for.
  • Character Information: Names, traits, and races.
  • Traits: Character traits for characters and general traits for description. Traits with an * next to them are from Numenera (including Numenera Discovery) just in case you want to use them for character design or NPC creation.
  • Races, Classes, & Themes/Occupations: Adapted from Starfinder, but can be used for any sci-fi game.
  • Yes/No Oracles: Roll any time you need a yes or no (and or but) answer.
  • Things: This can be treasure, clues, a personal item, or any other thing you may need. It also includes an "artifact" and "oddity" for Numenera play.
  • Twists: These are great for mid-game, random complications, or to end your session with a big reveal. You may get, "Secret revealed" or "Someone unexpected joins you."
  • Places: Places you may come across within or outside of a settlement. This could be a place you're already in or a place you need to go.
  • Encounters: Events happening within or outside of a settlement that you can choose to engage in.
  • Settlement Names: Coming up with settlement names can be hard. You can also use the General Traits table for the overall feel of the settlement you find yourself in or need to travel to.
  • Settlement Calamities: This is the settlement's current main issue that you may want to deal with or help solve.

This is a solo system-agnostic GM and Oracle Deck for sci-fi TTRPGs, but it is inspired by Starfinder and Numenera. It’s meant for solo play, but could also be used as idea generation for a group, or for GM-less games. You do not have to have any knowledge of Starfinder or Numenera if you want to use these.
